COVID-19 Update | May 5

Three Options this Sunday, May 10th

Hello Grace family! The elders would like to extend three options for participating in the worship service on Sunday, May 10th. After prayerful consideration, we hope one of the following options will minister well to you and your family, recognizing we all have diverse needs—both physical and spiritual.

  1. View the online recording with your family – this week’s service will be recorded and available on YouTube, continuing our recent online approach. We encourage those who are ill or who have an increased health risk, such as those over age 65, to use this option, as well as anyone who is concerned about public exposure.

  2. House church gatherings – families, life-groups and others who would like to meet in small home groups are encouraged to gather together on Sunday morning to view the YouTube recording.

  3. Live Service at 10:30am – We will have a live service for those wishing to gather in person on Sunday morning at the church building. Due to ongoing social-distancing guidance from the Center for Disease Control (CDC) and TX Governor Greg Abbott, the sanctuary will only be able to accommodate approximately 90 – 100 people. Those desiring to gather together are asked to RSVP in advance. Please note childcare will not be available, nor will bible study classes be held at 9:15am. Additional details on the live service are attached to understand how and why this Sunday’s gathering will differ from our past practice.

Above all, we desire to glorify Christ as a unified body of believers. We also affirm each family’s need to decide what their best course of action is and to act accordingly.

It is possible this approach will change in the coming weeks as we gain experience with the new live service format, or public health policies change. As a reminder, online giving is the church’s preferred method of receiving donations, but we also plan to have collection baskets available near the sanctuary doors.

We welcome and need your prayerful support. Please feel free to call any of us below if we can serve you. In the meantime, we look forward to worshipping together this weekend. While these are unusual times, we also want to honor our mothers this Sunday. Thank you for all of your loving service!

In Christ,

The GCO Elders
